A fringe of frost decorates the salt marsh during a pink sunrise at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Located along the northeast coast of Massachusetts, the refuge provides vital feeding, resting and nesting habitat for migratory birds. In addition to its mission of wildlife conservation, Parker River offers a variety of excellent recreational activities, including surf fishing, seasonal hunting, photography and wildlife observation. Visit in the warmer months and you might get lucky and see a rare saltmarsh sparrow or piping plover. Photo by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
